The web site says to leave messages here so you can read my encouraging thoughts. It's a little scary that you can read any of my thoughts! You are having quite an adventure (which I'm sure is news!) and I'm happy to experience it with you only vicariously! I would look forward to those flat tires, just for the breather. Sunday sermons by others have been great but don't get too used to it. I expect numerous rattlesnake analogies from you in the future. We think of you a lot and wish you the very best! I know I hadn't written yet, but would you expect anything else? David, I'm sorry you're not breaking your own flat record by leaps and bounds. I wish I could be with you guys so you could be assured of more rain. Seriously, I am praying for your safety and also for your continued rest in the Lord. Keep on pedallin'! Love, Your spiritual (and biological) brother, Jim.

Hi Ray and David, you have only a little over 2 weeks to go and you are still pedaling! You have to be a little road weary, you know they say "everything in moderation", well you guys are way past that, on your way to "extreme". Keep up the pace and thanks for being "extreme in your dedication to the ride and Stephanie". We miss you Ray and wish the wind at your backs for the rest of the trip. Linda and Tim

Hi Ray and David- my son Kevin is 17 and has battled diabetes for 6 years. There is probably not a single hour that passes each day that I don't think about it. On behalf of all mom's like me, thank you for your journey. I am very proud of my son and his determination to stay healthy. It is a lot of work to manage this disease- hopefully not like riding through the desert but some days it sure feels that way! Your trip in some way eases the load for all of us. God bless you and stay safe. Janet in Ohio

Hi guys, I've been following the saga with great interest. It's beginning to sound painful. Any projection when this ride will be completed? I've got no room to make comments since I subject myself to punishment sitting down. However, aerobatics is over quickly and you don't get stuck out in the wilderness, except at those weird towns where the contests are held. I will be in Llano from the fifth to eighth of August. Will that work for your schedule Dave?  More later. Love, Paul

Ray and David- Thank you for what you are doing. My name is David, and I am a 20 year old college student who was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year. My grandparents e-mailed the newspaper article about your ride to me (they are from Stow , OH ). I'm currently in Orange , TX for a summer internship, and you guys just rode right past me. Had I heard about this a few days earlier, I could have at least offered you a home cooked meal. Good luck with the rest of your journey, thank you, and God bless. -David

Hi, Ray and David! A 92 year-old man was asked by the social worker checking him into a retirement home, "Did you have a happy childhood?" He replied with a twinkle, "So far!" We like Margaret! Can we keep you both? She hugs good too! Dick and Rosemarie

Hello Ray and David from all the kids(47) at Vacation Bible School . Today we painted t-shirts, and ate ice cream cones along with music, games and a Bible story about Saul who became Paul. We are having fun AND, donating our collection this week to JDRF. The boys are leading in the competition with 4 lb. of coins but the girls are not far behind with 31/2 lb. of coins. All of us send our love and we have a lot of questions about the Texas snakes when you get back. - Richfield United Church of Christ Vacation Bible School

Hi Ray and David! I will be away at diabetes camp this week so I will miss out on your big end of bike trip 2004 finally but I will be thinking of you and all your travels. I am proud of you for finishing the trip and living through the rattlesnakes, flat tires, broken wheels, rain, heat, bad food, long days and weird people. Thank you for all you are doing to help me find a cure for diabetes too! We are almost to our goal and I am confident that we will make it! I will be thinking of you and I will see you when you get back home. Love, Stephanie
